A zoomable panorama of the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover‘s landing site was released on the 24th of February, 2021. This panorama is stitched with 142 photos which were taken on the 21st of February, or Sol 3, by the MastCam-Z located on the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover‘s Mast. The lower part of the panorama is the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover‘s top deck, the MMRTG, and the robotic arm. The middle part of the panorama shows the Jezero Crater’s land, edge, and cliff. The upper part of the panorama shows the sky of Mars and what is said to be an ancient river by scientists.

The two NavCams on the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover‘s mast capture the entire process of landing and this video has been sent back to Earth. In the report, scientists learned that both the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover’s Ingenuity Helicopter and its charging station are operational.

The Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover’s Ingenuity Helicopter is scheduled to stay attached at the bottom of the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover for at least one month. The pupose is to charge the Ingenuity Helicopter slowly until its full capacity with the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover‘s nuclear power MMRTG. Then after the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover’s Ingenuity Helicopter is dettached and starts its missions, it will have to charge itself with solar power.
